The school has strong faculty force and rich teaching facilities. It possesses 1 Natioinal Engineering Laboratory,  1 National-LocalAssociation Engineering Laboratory,  2 national teaching  exemplary center, 2 provincial key laboratories, 4 research institutions and 5 provincial education bases.

1. National Engineering Laboratory of Integrated Transportation Big Data Application Technology
          The National Engineering Laboratory of Integrated Transportation Big Data Application Technology was approved by National Development and Reform Commission (Document (2017)151 of High Technology Division of National Development and Reform Commission) in January 2017. The laboratory was set up by Southwest Jiaotong University as a participating unit, and the China Railway Information Technology Center, Civil Aviation University of China, Chongqing Transport Commission, Guiyang Huochebang Technology Co., Ltd. and other units as joint agencies. Currently it is the only national engineering laboratory in the field of the application of integrated transportation big data. Under the guidance of National Development and Reform Commission and with the aim to addressing the issues such as the islanding of transportation industry data and the fragmentation of travel services in China, the laboratory will dedicate to build the research and development platform for integrated transportation on the urgent need to apply the big data to improving the overall efficiency of the industry and to leveraging the management and service capabilities of the integrated transportation system across industries and geographies. Southwest Jiaotong University will focus on R&D and engineering of the technologies such as the integration planning of the integrated transportation, the operation management and control of the integrated transportation system and the intelligent logistics services.

 2. National united Engineering Laboratory of Integrated and Intelligent Transportation

         National united engineering laboratory of integrated and intelligent transportation is centered on “integration” and “intelligence”. It concentrates on the major demand in the field of transportation aiming to solve the national focused problem of scientific and technology. This laboratory is the vital platform to provide the integrated solutions and systematic engineering applications for building up the intelligent comprehensive transportation system and logistics system.
This laboratory dedicates on 6 active research directions and has a stable innovation team, engaged in National major projects, National science research projects, Provincial science research projects and Industry issues. These abundant achievements are widely used in industry. This has greatly promoted the development of both basic theory and advanced technology of comprehensive transportation. It has played an important role in the construction of comprehensive transportation system, the development of regional economic integration, and the cultivation of engineering technology innovative talents.
