On September 21, 2019, the 6th International Conference on Transportation Engineering (ICTE 2019) was held at the Chengdu Sheraton Lido Hotel. The conference is sponsored by Southwest Jiaotong University, American Society of Civil Engineering, China Transportation Association, Mao Yisheng Science and Technology Education Foundation, Zhan Tianyou Science and Technology Development Foundation, School of Transportation and Logistics at Southwest Jiaotong University, National Engineering Laboratory of Integrated Transportation Big Data Application Technology, and National United Engineering Laboratory of Integrated and Intelligent Transportation. The theme of this conference is " Belt and Road, Interconnection, Shared Mobility, Green and Intelligence".
 

The conference was chaired by Liu Xiaobo, Dean of School of Transportation and Logistics, Southwest Jiaotong University. The chairman of the conference organizing committee was Professor Peng Qiyuan, a National Renowned Teacher and director of National United Engineering Laboratory of Integrated and Intelligent Transportation at Southwest Jiaotong University. The chairman of the academic committee was Professor Luo Xia, Representative of National People’s Congress, Vice Chairman of Chengdu CPPCC, National Renowned Teacher, and Deputy Dean of School of Transportation and Logistics, Southwest Jiaotong University.

The conference involves all aspects of 18 areas of transportation planning and intelligent transportation. It is an academic festival in the field of transportation engineering research. It is an important academic exchange platform and research achievements and innovative technologies for outstanding transportation experts and scholars at home and abroad. The holding of this conference is of great significance to the development of Southwest Jiaotong University and the development of the world's transportation industry.

Subsequently, Vice President Chu Feiyue of the China Transportation Association delivered a speech. President Chu mentioned that this year is a critical year for the rapid development of China's transportation industry. The holding of this conference provides a high-level communication platform. He hoped everyone can communicate in depth, learn extensively, and make full use of the gains from this event.
 

More than 200 people from the United States, Britain, Denmark and other countries in the field of transportation engineering attended the conference. The meeting lasted for two days, September 21 and 22, with a main venue and four branch venues. Topics covered include transportation planning and system optimization, urban public transportation planning and management, urban rail transit passenger flow, transportation safety, innovative strategies for logistics planning and management, multimodal transport, high-speed railway planning, construction and operation organization, and modern logistics systems. Important research directions and disciplines such as planning and system optimization, road and railway engineering, and transportation tool application engineering were discussed. The conference organizing committee received more than 700 abstracts. After months of peer review, 127 papers were selected for publication by the American Society of Civil Engineering.
